Missions
Covenant Church of Pittsburgh is actively involved in fulfilling the command of Jesus, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
(Mark 16:15)
We believe missions is a tangible demonstration of a loving relationship with God. It is the lifestyle of the Church, both in the local region and beyond. We communicate the message of reconciliation by preaching the gospel and by caring for those in desperate need. “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” (Matthew 25:40). With this as our pursuit, we engage in praying, giving and going.
The Lord has called us to be catalysts of kingdom influence. He has called us to the darkness; to peoples who have not heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through our supported missions we seek to train and equip international leaders. Also, we actively engage in international student ministry in order to maximize our effective reach to least reached nations. We support a variety of long-term missions around the world and we are involved in effective short-term work. Our water campaign, Covenant Waters, funds the drilling of water wells in nations with desperate need. And throughout the year, Mobile Teams are equipped and engaged in creative, Spirit filled outreaches.
Mission Prayer Group (MPG) meets the first Sunday of every month for prayer. It is crucial to our Spirit-filled missions endeavors to voice our requests to God for the nations and for one another. Come join us and see what God is doing through CCOP Missions.
