What to expect
We want you to come as you are! From flip flops to dress shoes, jeans to 3-piece suits – we want you to be comfortable.
We have kids services every Sunday. Middle schoolers will enjoy worship with the adults and then head to class where they will be challenged and encouraged by the Word of God.
Our worship is a multicultural sound. At the Covenant Church, you can dance, clap and sing. In all we do, our number one value in worship is to passionately pursue the presence of God while connecting others to the Father so they have an awareness of His nearness.
We encourage you to sign up for our Discover Class. This class will unpack who we are, where we came from and what we believe. You will also have the opportunity to sign up to become a partner at the Covenant Church (partnership is our form of membership).
Yes! We have coffee, tea and snacks available for purchase in our cafe.
A typical Sunday service runs about 90 minutes, but not all services are typical.
Why we do what we do
Why do we sing?
Colossians 3:16
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
Why do we play musical instruments?
Psalm 150:3-5
Praise Him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise Him with the lyre and harp! praise Him with the tambourine and dancing; praise Him with strings and flutes! praise Him with the clash of cymbals; praise Him with loud clanging cymbals.
Why do we clap our hands?
Psalm 47:1
The act of clapping our hands is a form of praise which is mentioned frequently in scripture. Come, everyone! clap your hands! shout to God with joyful praise!
Why do we lift our hands?
Timothy 2:8
In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.
What is prophecy and how is it used?
1 Corinthians 14:3
Prophecy is a supernatural utterance from God in an understood or known tongue but one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.
1 Corinthians 14:1
Let love be your highest goal! but you should also desire the special abilities the spirit gives – especially the ability to prophesy.
Why do we pray for the sick and annoint with oil?
James 5:14-15
Are any of you sick? you should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.
Why do we practice laying on of hands?
Luke 4:40
As the sun went down that evening, people throughout the village brought sick family members to Jesus. No matter what their diseases were, the touch of his hand healed every one.
Acts 19:6
Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.
