What is an Altar ?
1. a system of authorization.
2. a system that gives permission and approves something.
3. a place set apart intentionally or unintentionally for spiritual activity.
4. a place says yes or no to something in the spiritual realm that may or may not manifest itself in the physical realm.
5. a place where humility meets divinity.
6. a place that honors the law of balance (up/down, left/right, in/out, and good/evil).
7. a spiritual airport where your prayers land and take off.
8. a place that honors the law of territory:
- a geographic area belonging to or under the jurisdiction of a governmental authority.
- no entity can enter another territory without a body that suits that territory.
9. the body that a spirit needs in order to operate on earth.
10. a place that represents significant memories in your history with God

Until One is Committed

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back-- Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth that ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.

I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets:

Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius power and magic in it.
Only engage and then the mind grows heated,
Begin and then the work will be completed.
